Zone 6 ~ Height: to 45cm/18in ~ Part shade to shade, rich moist soil
Native to Yunnan, this enchanting shade-lover forms dense rosettes of glossy, deep green heart-shaped leaves, with puplish tints on the newer growth. The flowering spikes are sprinkled with starry snow-white flowers in late spring. We offer second-year plants that have already bloomed.
Zone 7? ~ Height: to 2.5cm/1in ~ Sun, sharp drainage (containers)
A gorgeous and rare brachystelma, from the Cathcart district fo South Africa's Eastern Cape region, with 2.5cm/1in flowers, deep purple-brown with golden tips. We have just a handful of blooming-size plants to sell.
Zone 7? ~ Height: to 2.5cm/1in ~ Sun, sharp drainage (containers)
These are odd little caudiciform plants, members of the Apocynaceae, with large fleshy perennial roots supporting small-leaved trailing stems and greenish starfish-like flowers. We do not know whether they can survive in garden conditions, but they are accomodating subjects in pots as long as they are overwintered cool and dry. We have only a handful available.
Zone 7? ~ Height: to 80cm/32in ~ Sun, well-drained soil (containers)
A magnificent species, ranging up to 2000m/6500 in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, with thick, rough adpressed leaves and an immense head of red or pink flowers. Here we offer fourth-year seedlings of a light pink selection. Growing these to blooming size will require patience and skill. Photo copyright Cameron McMaster, used with permisssion.

Zone 7? ~ Height: to 30cm/3ft ~ Sun, well-drained to dry soils
This handsome member of the Asphodelaceae, widely distributed in Lesotho and South Africa's Eastern Cape, forms clumps of broad, flat, upright grey-green leaves, from which rise spikes of bright lemon-yellow flowers. It's been easy to grow in pots, but we haven't tried it in the garden and don't know how it will perform. Given its range in the wild, it should be moderately hardy.
